September 23, 2021 — Stockholm, Sweden — Beetroot ecosystem has become a member of the Global Compact Network Ukraine, the official local platform of the United Nations Global Compact.
The UN’s strategic initiative aims to unite businesses worldwide to accelerate the progress towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Ukrainian branch of the network facilitates dialogue between the private sector, investors, civil society organizations, and the government. In addition, GC Network Ukraine cooperates with many local and global organizations, including GIZ, USAID, UNICEF, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and UN Resident Coordinator Office, to name a few.
By joining the platform, Beetroot AB, Beetroot Academy, Beetroot Sweden AB, and Beetroot Hub commit to following the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
“While we’ve been successfully incorporating the fundamental responsibilities since the company’s establishment in 2012, joining the network of like-minded organizations under the UN’s guidance opens new impact-building opportunities for our tech ecosystem,” says Yulia Gritsai, Sustainability Coordinator at Beetroot AB.
The new membership aligns with Beetroot’s impact goals detailed in the ecosystem’s 2020 Sustainability Report published earlier this year.
