Challenge

  • LöwgrenIT, a Stockholm-based consulting firm specializing in enterprise IT solutions, sought an experienced partner to conceptualize and design the UI/UX for their travel planning app, while also defining a Proof of Concept (POC) to validate its feasibility.

They needed to identify potential technical challenges, create a clickable prototype, define the MVP, and prepare for investor presentations with a clear understanding of the app’s scope and technical considerations.

LöwgrenIT chose Beetroot for its strong reputation, cultural alignment, and proximity, believing we were the right partner to bring their vision to life.

  • Project Recap

    • LöwgrenIT needed to transform their idea for a travel app into an MVP, including validating its feasibility and addressing potential technical hurdles.
    • Beetroot’s Discovery team built a comprehensive prototype, blending user-centric design with technical clarity, and delivered structured documentation to support future development.
    • The client received a polished clickable prototype, a clearly defined MVP, and the required assets to secure investor funding — exceeding expectations and laying the groundwork for continued collaboration in the app’s next development stages.

Solution

Our Discovery team approached the project by assembling a focused team consisting of a project manager (PM) and UI/UX designers. The project was executed over two months. The process involved creating thorough documentation, which included user stories, updated non-functional requirements, an architecture proposal, and a work breakdown structure (WBS).

The key outcome was a clickable Figma prototype, a dynamic tool that illustrated the app’s design and functionality through interactive screens and transitions. This prototype allowed the client to gather valuable feedback and refine the design prior to development. Beetroot’s UX designers emphasized iterative enhancements and feedback integration, which ensured that the design aligned with both business objectives and user needs.

Results

Beetroot’s work resulted in a solid foundation for the CityWeekend Travel Planner app. The key deliverables included the following:

  • A well-defined MVP that meets the project’s scope.
  • An interactive UX/UI prototype demonstrating app functionality.
  • Detailed technical documentation to support investor presentations.

These assets positioned LöwgrenIT to confidently present their travel app concept to investors, laying the groundwork for future development.

Testimonials & Reflections

  • Delivery was on time, and work was well structured. The project manager also had good communication skills, and all in the team understood the main idea for the app and how to translate that in the best way into a UI/UX.
